        Verdict

        THE BLUE BOWER finally took advantage of a slide down the weights when scoring by three lengths over track and trip on his reappearance. He remains on a winning mark and, with an apprentice’s allowance also negating a large chunk of a 7lb rise, he can go in again. Mellys Flyer ended last year with a victory here in October but is 8lb higher today while Equitation beat Tyger Bay at this venue before struggling at Southwell but Helvetian makes more appeal after placing at Lingfield.
