In depth

Verdict

Man From Mars looked a certain future winner when runner-up at Huntingdon but found Grade 3 company and an extra half-mile beyond him at Sandown. The Poodle Faker showed promise in bumpers though has done nothing over hurdles but Argyle, who had ten starts on the Flat without winning, attracted good support on just his second start for Gary Moore at Plumpton and was up with the pace until the last. BURNING HEAT had three runs on the all-weather after arriving from France before making a promising debut over timber at Huntingdon where he defied a 50/1 SP to finish runner-up to So Celebre. He wouldn't need to improve much to land this and gets the vote. Juste Pour Nous won a couple of minor race on the Flat for Mark Johnston and has joined David Pipe after winning a LIngfield seller in December while New Millennium is evidently thought better than we've seen so far as he was well supported on his debut for Philip Hobbs at Ludlow.
