Salinja, River Alhaarth and Eqdaam are the three to concentrate on in this competitive handicap and the vote is given to the last-mentioned. The selection was disappointing last time at Ripon when finishing down the field behind Secret History, but he quite simply failed to handle the ground that day and, back on a faster surface, he looks to have a leading chance with his yard continuing in good form. Salinja won a maiden at Nottingham in good style last time but he has more on his plate here. However, he does have a Derby entry and if there is strong support behind him then it could pay to take the hint. River Alhaarth improved on his debut effort when winning at Leicester from Registrar last time out. Connections are hopeful that he will make into a decent handicapper this season and he should go well. Noubian made a pleasing debut on the AW when beating Rightful Ruler, but he will need to improve on that effort to get competitive here and we are happy to return to Eqdaam as our idea of the winner.
