In depth

Verdict

A cracking little race with Jack The Giant, Circassian, The Dukes Speech and Premiere Dane all in with a chance but the nod goes to the last named. Premiere Dane was very disappointing at Musselburgh before running a personal best at Aintree last time out behind Detroit City. He was only beaten eight lengths that day and if anywhere near his best today he will be hard to beat. His biggest rival will be Jack The Giant who was sent off a short priced favourite at Punchestown on his latest run and was slightly disappointing to have only finished third that day. But he still looks on the up grade as is one to note. Circassian finished fifth of sixteen behind Straw Bear at Aintree last time out. He was not disgraced on that occasion and will win more races. The Dukes Speech looks like he might prefer softer conditions so for the winner we return to Premiere Dane.
