Verdict

Double W's has the class to defy top weight in a race like this but he didn’t fire at all last season. SUDSKI STAR (NAP) has an excellent strike-rate and is bidding for a fourth win around here. He picked off the front-running Ifandbutwhynot at Carlisle in March and can confirm that form, despite worse terms. Applaus won at Wetherby in March and a subsequent run at Newcastle was over hurdles - he’s only six and is not out of this. Brave Spartacus is still capable at this level while Oak Vintage quickly bounced back to form at Sedgefield last month, beating Chain Of Beacons six lengths, though there should be little between them today on the revised terms.
