Verdict

VELOCE was a big disappointment in a handicap at Carlisle in February but has been plenty of time to recover and is difficult to oppose at this level. The danger may be Cleve Cottage, who has been placed three times in bumpers and hails from a yard going really well at present. Potomac, a winner three times on the Flat, will have needed his run at Wetherby and can only improve. He looks the pick of the remainder as winning pointer Another Mattie almost certainly won't come into his own until tackling fences.
