Verdict

PROUD TIMES stepped up on his debut effort to run Flinty Bay close at Ayr recently with the rest of the field a distance behind. He can take this with improvement likely and Alan Swinbank's fine strike rate with his hurdlers at this track further boosts confidence. French import Patterning opened his account over hurdles at the first time of asking with today's rival Battle Honour back in third and Sixties Rock and Thescottishsoldier way behind. He should go close again here, but Pokfulham will find life tough under a penalty so bumper winner Freddie Brown makes more appeal.
