Verdict

CHANGING THE GUARD was taking on much better company when third at Bangor last time. These are a modest bunch and Richard Newland's six-year-old, who was at his best on good to firm on the Flat, may be good enough to defy top weight. Farleigh House was nearest at the finish when third at Stratford and could also get outpaced on the sharp track but Dormouse would have a chance on his best form while Rampant Ronnie won this last year, though has been woefully out of form lately. Jawhary won at Towcester in May but has gone backwards since.
