In depth

Verdict

It will be interesting to see how Sweet Medicine performs on her hurdling debut and Brendan Powell's mare has to be respected but Persona has shown respectable form in two starts over timber and she looks the percentage call with Plume d'Oudairies rated the best of the remainder. The selection stepped up on the form of her debut effort over hurdles when narrowly beaten here last month and a reproduction of the form shown that day may well suffice. Kiama lost her way on the level and is hard to back with any confidence on her hurdling debut, while Enforce, a winner on the flat in France, is probably best watched on her first start for new connections. Mad was nothing out of the ordinary on the level and of more interest may be Henrietta Knight's Plume d'Oudairies, who was going well until falling at Bangor last time. Persona has solid claims on recent form though and she gets the vote to gain a deserved first success.
