Verdict

Not a lot to go on but Sea Captain is bred in the blue and we will take him at the expense of Northern Shadows and Alderburn. Sea Captain's sire has bred a number of decent bumper winners for the Charlie Swan and Jonjo O'Neill stables in the past and if this one is forward enough in his work he should take the beating. Northern Shadows is likely to start towards the head of the market on account of a third on her Warwick debut. It is worth remembering that that was in a mares only race and that form in those types of races is notoriously difficult to transfer against the colts and geldings. Alderburn's recent efforts are much better than the formbook suggests and this individual does at least look to have potential improvement. The Battlin Bishop has a flat breeding and should be watched in the market. Kabeer finished second on his sole start for Julian Poulton and has switched stables since that bow. Madison de Vonnas is likely to be well forward for his age although his trainer is not noted for too many first time out winners. A wide open race in which Sea Captain is suggested as a feasible betting medium
