This may not be as competitive a contest as the numbers suggest and it will be no surprise to see the former John Gosden-trained Sam Lord make a winning debut over hurdles for Alan King and he gets the vote to do just that, getting the verdict ahead of Inchlaggan and Pagan Rules. The last mentioned had ability on the level but would need to improve for the switch to hurdles to trouble the selection. Tilly Shilling has the ability of having had a couple of runs over hurdles and showed promise on his debut at the winter game, while Motarjm is another that had ability on the flat and could be of interest on his hurdling debut but is probably best watched. David Pipe saddles the former Barry Hills inmate Inchlaggan and he has to be respected having shown a decent level of form on the level and given his current connections. Sam Lord is a likely type though and is taken to make a winning hurdling debut for Alan King who has his string in good form.
