Evan Williams complicates matters by saddling two runners here, Elbistan and Dontpaytheferryman, with the former having already shown a fair amount of ability looking the pick of the pair but marginal preference is for SHANNERSBURG. David Pipe's gelding was a capable performer on the level, rated in the early 80s and can be expected to have learned from his hurdling debut. Don Cantillon's Joshua was nothing out of the ordinary on the level and has given no sign of encouragement in two starts over hurdles, while Galley Slave has failed to progress since making a promising debut and looks best watched. It is difficult to see Rock Me taking a hand in the finish and of more interest may be Pam Sly's Ovthenight, who was a capable performer on the level and now makes his debut over hurdles. The remaining newcomers to hurdling make limited appeal and it is Shannersburg that gets the vote.
