In depth

Verdict

Safari Run is a confident selection to put together back-to-back victories here. This Irish point-to-point winner looks the type that could rack up a sequence of victories throughout the summer months and last time got the better of her market rival and suspect stayer Premier Dane under an excellent ride from Rose Davidson. Whatever this mare did over hurdles was a bonus as she should come into her own over fences and this 2m 4f trip is ideal. Spirit Calling has experience on his side and is a better chaser than hurdler. His third behind the improving Loita Hills at Perth was a decent effort although the second Newbay Bob had very moderate form in Irish hunter chases previous to that. Harry Flashman makes his chasing debut here and was highly rated over hurdles. His best form is on quick ground and market support would be noteworthy. Paradise Bay has proved expensive to follow in recent starts. He didn't appear to see out the trip last time and could well be in the grip of the English handicapper over hurdles. His trainer is a dab hand at improving sorts and his two outings over fences should just be ignored as they were on ground which he does not act on. Safari Run is the pick to land it for Pauline Robson and the Davidsons.
