In depth

Verdict

National Heritage has been running creditably in maiden and novices' hurdles of late and could be of interest here but Alan Swinbank's recent Aintree winner SHIWAWA looks improving and is preferred with Word Of Warning looking the pick of the remainder. The selection was good value for his defeat of Rileyev at Aintree and a similar level of form may well suffice for the son of Halling. Tim Vaughan's Urban Tiger has been running well over fences of late but made a pleasing return to hurdles when chasing home Any Given Day at Uttoxeter earlier this month and he has to be considered. Ferdy Murphy's French import, Sumak, is probably bets watched on his debut for new connections and of more interest may be Martin Todhunter's Word Of Warning, who is lightly raced and looks to be going the right way. Ice Image is becoming expensive to follow and a safer option seems to be the improving Shiwawa, who is taken to follow up his recent Aintree success.
