Verdict

Because of some ability shown on testing ground MAMBA gets the vote with the going likely to defeat Go On Be A Lady and Miss Toozy Betsy. We only have the one outing to judge the selection on but she shaped well enough when landing fourth place of 15 runners at Catterick in January. Len Lungo's charge raced a bit keenly then and with the experience under the belt she should have improved allowing the mare to be more competitive where it counts. If conditions were more favourable then Go On Be A Lady would have outstanding claims after winning at Sedgefield in a better contest in April. That was on good ground though and this bottomless mire doesn't look like it will suit. The same can be said for Miss Toozy Betsy after she shaped well on debut but again on good ground while Amulee could be the main danger to the selection after she performed well enough on similar stuff last time. Mamba though looks to be the mudlark and gets the selection.
