Verdict

Stamina will be key for this marathon trip and the unexposed, on-form OVERLADY has that in abundance and should complete a hat-trick ahead of Capybara and Shulmin. The pick has never taken on this trip but was more than impressive with an easy win over three and a half miles in heavy ground at Carlisle. He also stayed on really well to claim a large margin of victory and he should still improve after just four starts to overcome a eight pound rise in his mark. The nearest challenge should be Capybara, who was a winner last time out. He seems to have been harshly treated by the assessor for that success. A course winner over a shorter trip he will at least handle the track and he should just get the trip. Shulmin is perhaps one of the most likely to stay the distance, usually running on well late. He looks to be off a competitive mark and will go well on the ground. Getinbybutonlyjust finished runner-up in a similar race over course and distance in November and looks well treated to challenge while Bellaney Jewel also has proven stamina but looks high enough in the handicap these days. It will be a slog but Overlady looks destined for better things in the future.
