Verdict

Cudgel alternates between hurdles and fences and scored over the smaller obstacles here last month. That was his first run since February and he should be ready for this. Jennie Candlish has her horses in good form and GOLAN CLOUD (NAP) could be let in lightly. A winner over hurdles back in March, he chased home the well supported Bushypark here last month and the winner, who runs earlier, went on to score even easier at Haydock. He holds Love At Dawn and Dequali on that last run while potential punters will need to forgive Espoir Moriviere a poor run at Newcastle after being awarded a race at Ayr in the stewards' room.
