In depth

Verdict

Tot O' Whiskey has to give weight away but he is by far and away the most likely winner and so Malcolm Jefferson's course and distance winner is taken to score at the main expense of Cash Man and Mirage Dore. A winner at the track last month, the selection has proven his ability to act on good and softer ground. This is likely to be the quickest surface that he has encountered to date but assuming that he proves as effective then he should take some stopping. Clear The Way, a winning point-to-pointer hasn't reproduced that ability on the racetrack proper of late, whilst Cash Man should have come on for his recent outing at Kelso. The return to this trip may well suit and he should be capable of a place at least. Ten Carat ran well on his debut over timber behind the selection and this decent flat recruit should not be underestimated, especially as he has a 7lb pull in the weights with Tot O' Whiskey. However the last named is sure to improve again and can land this before going on to bigger and better things.
