In depth

Verdict

Miss Mitch, La Marette, Linnet and Chickapeakray are the four to concentrate on in this mares' only handicap hurdle and the narrow preference is for La Marette. The selection was a decent third behind Schuh Shine at Warwick last time and as she will meet nothing of that calibre here today she is expected to go close on ground that suits. Miss Mitch fell when travelling well last time at Chepstow in a race won by Supreme Huntress. If her confidence has not been dented by that fall then she should be capable of getting competitive. Linnet is from a yard in decent form but she is better on a faster surface so with this in mind she looks worth taking on today. Chickapeakray raced too prominently last time so a change in tactics may see her in a better light this afternoon. We certainly couldn't be hot on the chances of Ice Cream, so we are happy to return to La Marette as our idea of the winner.
