A small but competitive field goes to post for the finale, with Ballyrobert taken to score at the main expense of Jack Fuller, Tarongo and Jupon Vert. The selection was the promising novice of last season and he would have won last time out at Huntingdon if he had jumped more fluently. He is sure to come on for his seasonal reappearance effort and it will be a surprise if he can't lead them home. Jack Fuller is a bit of an in-and-out performer and he ran well last time when second behind Just A Touch at Towcester. He would have to be at his best to take this and as consistency is not his forte he is passed over. Tarongo was well beaten last time behind Another Joker, but he was unsuited by the soft ground that day and this faster surface may bring about some improvement. Jupon Vert is a game old sort but he often travels well in his races without finding much off the bridle. This could be an interesting contest to close the card and we are happy to stick with Ballyrobert as our idea of the winner.
