In depth

Verdict

Taffrail and Tirikumba have their fair share of weight nut should still figure in the finish, but Gan Eagla could be well treated here and is taken to land the spoils. This five-year-old gelding was beaten out of sight at Perth last time but had previously finished a promising third to Donald at Stratford. He is not the most straight forward of characters, but if in the mood today he will take all the beating. Tirikumba wasn't beaten far when fourth to San Marco in a better race than this at Stratford last time and should go close despite the burden of eleven stone twelve in the plate. Taffrail was third behind the classy Swansea Bay last time, and if he doesn't throw in one of his unexplainable poor efforts, he should be in the firing line. It is race full of inconsistent performers, but Gan Eagla has fair claims and is a tentative selection.
