FIFTY SHEETS might be able to complete an early double on the card here for trainer Charlie Egerton, where again his chief rival may emerge as a Henderson trained runner in Midsummer Magic. The selection has seen a racecourse just once when going well for a long way in a novices' hurdle last December. His French sire Spadoun loved plenty of cut in the ground, so there is reason to believe that the selection will handle it, and the yard has no problem readying one to win first time, so we'll give him the nod. Midsummer Magic has had three bumper runs to date and she may improve for jumping now, though it is fair to say that her trainer has better ammunition in the yard. Even so, she is likely to be well prepared to run her race. Drawback looks another leading player here. Heather Dalton's gelding handles cut on the level where he is rated 81, and after a pleasing introduction to hurdles at Plumpton he can improve. Alan Swinbank's hurdling debutant Ozone Trustee is worth a market check for a guide to his chance, while Jeepstar looks likely to improve, though he'd probably want faster ground. Fifty Sheets gets the vote.
