In depth

Verdict

Rani Two could prove the answer to a competitive opener in which My Daisychain, Leave To Appeal and Shamara are others to consider. Mark Brisbourne's filly isn't the easiest to predict but comes here in good heart following a most decisive success in similar grade at Ayr last week. The daughter of Wolfhound can confirm the placings with Grey Clouds on 5lb worse terms and should appreciate any cut in the ground so should give another good account in the hands of Pat Eddery. My Daisychain has proved a tough and consistent sort and ran a sound race in defeat at Hamilton last time but may ideally prefer a little further while Leave To Appeal was beaten off a similar mark at Leicester last time and needs to find improvement. The lightly raced Shamara showed she is progressing along the right lines when landing a Goodwood maiden on her latest start but faces no easy task on her handicap debut so Rani Two looks the safest option.
