Verdict

Testify is yet another Donald McCain runner on this card trying to follow up a success 12 months ago. He faces a stiff task trying to give weight to a decent field of handicappers but this intermediate distance will suit, though he needs to find something to overturn Newcastle running with Sharp Response. Houblon Des Obeaux is not the force of old and Splash of Ginge may also have seen better days but Kimberlite Candy is on an upward curve and should make a bold bid to complete the hat-trick. DUEL AT DAWN was coming along nicely before finding 4m too far in the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham in March. He hasn’t raced since but this looks a good starting point for the winter and conditions won’t be a problem. Ballyarthur is starting to look well handicapped but Rocklander and Clan Legend may be a few pounds too high. Whoshotwho fell at the first in the BetVictor at Cheltenham but that was a rare lapse and he could easily bounce back.
