Verdict

THE NEW ONE should outclass these before heading for better things. Nigel Twiston-Davies' hurdling star, probably unlucky when third in the Champion Hurdle, made amends at Aintree and showed his wellbeing with a comfortable victory at Kempton on his reappearance. He's as low as 3/1 for the Cheltenham championship event and though up against some talented opposition here should have a nice prep for whatever comes next. Melodic Rendezvouz is only rated 6lb behind him and though a Grade1 and triple Grade 2 winner he ended the last campaign on a low and was well behind the selection at Cheltenham. The five-year-old Zamdy Man completed a hat-trick at the turn of last year but hasn't been seen since January but the year younger Hawk High, who landed the Fred Winter at the Festival, reappeared with a superb victory under a big weight at Aintree and is likely to continue his progress. Aurore D'Estruval looked a star of the future at Wetherby and her allowances can see her in the picture but William's Wishes is likely to be back over fences shortly.
