    Verdict

Bramantino can outstay the opposition in the finale, with Vicars Destiny, Once and Nakwa others to conjure with. Bramantino has never raced over today's trip, but has done nothing but improve since tackling longer distances than in his first two years. Having opened his account on the all-weather in February, Richard Fahey's inmate subsequently posted a fine second on turf at Newcastle, finishing a six length second to Archie Babe over a mile and a half. Ideally he would prefer much softer ground, but the extra two furlongs here will still bring his stamina into play and he should not be too far away at the finish. Vicars Destiny was a beaten favourite on the level at Ripon in April but has since won well over hurdles at Market Rasen. She has in fact yet to open her account on the Flat but gets on well with George Duffield. Once is a lightly-raced maiden who has to shoulder topweight on his belated reappearance, but Nakwa has been consistent enough while finding one or two too good this season, and is expected to be in the shake-up. With the ground a key factor, Bramantino is no good thing, but commands respect on his overall form and is the selection.
