    Verdict

An interesting mile handicap where Wasan, Goodbye, Goodbye Mr Bond and The Osteopath look short-list material and we will put up the latter as the selection. Michael Dods has his runners in great nick at present and this five-year-old gelding was successful over both 7f and a mile in the spring. Either trip seems to suit, and he has won on good ground, though if it were to rain then his chance would be further enhanced. He races from a winning mark again here and is the pick for us. Wasan won his first two starts for Clive Brittain but looked to have a bit too much weight last time. He won't mind a drop of rain either and is not dismissed lightly. Goodbye Mr Bond scored at York last time over 9f and does appear better over a bit further than this these days. Despite a 6lb rise he is still on a winning mark so he can be competitive again. Goodbye went well over c&d in defeat in April and acts best on ground good or softer but looks a tad high in the weights at the moment, while Danehillsundance would be interesting if the ground quickens, but The Osteopath can get back to winning ways.
