Verdict

Axel Jacklin is well exposed but led for a long way over 7f at Chester last time and will take some catching. His stable companion Smile A Mile started odds-on for his debut at Newcastle but was soon done with after early speed and has twice had to be withdrawn from races subsequently after getting upset at the start. CLOAK AND DAGGER is a half-brother to a 6f winner and out of a mare who won over the trip. He'll have come on a bundle for his run in soft ground at Goodwood and can take this for Clive Cox. Armageddon looked in need of experience at Thirsk and missed the break but stayed on steadily when the race was over and will know much more here. Five Angels is very speedily-bred and related to several minor winning sprinters.
