Verdict

Four-year-olds have won this maiden on numerous occasions and it would be no surprise to see Godolphin's MEMORIAL DAY go close on his reappearance. He was a close-up third on his belated debut at Wolverhampton in November, despite missing the break and having to be switched around horses in the home straight. Rifle Range should improve on his debut second at Chelmsford, where he was always prominent, while the Pivotal colt Suitor wouldn't need to be anything special to get involved. Alasaal was third on his introduction at Kempton and is likely to be suited by the step up to 1m but Synodic turned in a shocker last time at Ripon when too keen.
