      Verdict

A tricky opener in which several look to have leading claims. Man Of God was pulled out of a similar contest last week on account of the fast ground but conditions here should suit and his Yarmouth win in September has worked out well. Piave won on his reappearance at Redcar and Pandoro De Lago showed she had improved over the winter when scoring at Newcastle, though she doesn't look particularly well treated here. Tenby Lady has plenty of scope and Mia Madonna clearly has ability, but is starting to look a little exposed now. GRUMETI showed promise as a two-year-old and was well backed when third on his handicap debut at Goodwood last month - he's worth another chance on this more conventional track.
