Verdict

CHAMIREY is taken to come out on top ahead of Erzen and Sereth. It usually pays to side with those at the foot of the weights in this race but the top-rated horse is inferior to those that usually line-up in this contest so we could see a change. Chamirey still appeals as being feasibly treated as he's only gone up by 5lbs for his defeat of Tricky Trickster at Fontwell where he looked ideally served by a trip on testing ground. Although it may not be wise to take the bare form at face value, his other efforts stack up well and he should have more to offer. Erzen chased home Beshabar at Sandown and looks well worth trying at this trip but it's possible that he may be suited by better ground despite his efforts on a soft surface thus far and others are possibly better handicapped. Sereth is a potential improver as this smart Flat stayer steps up beyond an extended two miles for the first time and could improve significantly for the longer trip but he's rarely raced on ground this testing. Volador will appreciate the step back up in trip but the run could come too soon, Dancing Dik needs to build on his Wetherby win where Captain Americo was back in third and of more interest are Fredo, My Friend Sandy, Pemberton and Den Of Iniquity although the last named has questions to answer; Chamirey is taken to come out on top.
