Verdict

Elvis Mail was due to run over fences at Kelso yesterday. With the exception of novice Inis Oirr, only 7lb separates these on official ratings. Itchy Feet ended a long losing run at Huntingdon last month and Ashtown Lad travelled best for most of the trip last time at Warwick before failing to quicken in the closing stages. He is almost as good over hurdles as he is over fences but WAKOOL has been running well under big weights in handicaps since a win at Ayr in the autumn. He’s been a money-spinner for Nick Alexander’s stable and is definitely worth a try in this grade, though is closely matched with Erne River on collateral form. Green Book won a Grade 3 at Sandown two weeks ago for the second year running but finished tailed off at this meeting last year and carries a penalty.
