Open Day suffered a narrow-margin defeat at Chepstow on his latest start in October and has been raised a further 5lb for his trouble. Top Wood has a shout on his return to action, but Chavoy has to cope with a 12lb hike in the weights after scoring at Ayr last month. Wolf Shield has been upped 10lb for his success at Newcastle so the lightly-raced Wetherby winner Flemenson makes more appeal with a conditional's claim helping his cause. Extreme Impact only beat Quel Elite by a neck over track and trip last month and both should give a good account in this, as should Astigos if forgiven a below-par effort at Towcester last time. HORATIO HORNBLOWER returned from a lengthy absence with victory in heavy ground at Ffos Las a fortnight ago. Nick Williams' charge was rated 8lb higher in bumpers and there should be more to come from him.
