Veteran Equiano Springs has found some form again but has always been best over 6f while more ease in the ground would have suited Ugo Gregory, a winner over course and distance two runs ago. Persuasion finally ended a long losing run at Thirsk but has to carry a penalty, though is well drawn again. RIOT is only a pound higher than when successful at Doncaster in July and has continued to run well but Diamondonthehill would have preferred an extra furlong. Canoodled won well under William Buick at Newmarket but has been raised 7lb. Metabolt looks the pick of the remainder but remains high enough in the weights.
