Verdict

Call To Arms is likely to be fairly short in the market following a promising debut effort when chasing home Ballodair in a maiden at Thirsk and, with Mark Johnston's two-year-olds normally improving from their first start to their second, he has to be respected but is unlikely to represent any value and it may be worth taking a chance with the newcomer KHATTAAB, who is preferred to Revelator. The Alan Jarvis-trained colt is a well bred son of One Cool Cat and has to be respected first time up but the yard are not well known for having their youngsters ready to win first time up. Alan Berry's Remember Dougie was well beaten on his debut, while Sandy Toes has given no sign of encouragement from two starts so far. Howard Johnson's Durham Reflection has run creditably in all three starts so far but looks booked for a place at best and preference is for Khattaab. Speedily bred being a son of Dixie Union out of an Owington mare, Barry Hills continues to have plenty of winners and is more than capable of getting a juvenile ready first time out and he looks worth chancing at the likely odds.
