Verdict

ARAB SPRING has won first-time out for the past two seasons so the fact that he hasn't had a run since last May shouldn't pose a problem and last year's John Porter winner is well up to this class. John Gosden saddles a pair of three-year-olds with the Dante third Foundation perhaps the most interesting despite finishing last in the French Derby. His lightly-raced stable companion Royal Artillery is owned by Coolmore so the presence of Colm O'Donoghue in the saddle suggests he's not making up the numbers. Scottish is a dual Listed winner who hasn't quite been able to make the transition to this class so far but Gabrial is perfectly capable of scoring in this grade at his best, though he's a rare runner over a trip this far and his very best form has been over a mile.
