      Verdict

Silly Gilly can reverse recent form with Rann Na Cille and is a tentative selection in a tricky sprint handicap; Mangano has a 6lb penalty for carry for winning at Musselburgh eight days ago but also has to be a threat in this company. Orotund is another worth a mention but he has been struggling since he lost his maiden tag. He needs luck on his side. Mangano (who is closely matched with Orotund) has been holding his form well and fully deserved his success last week. However, this is a slightly stiffer test and, as he has been brushed aside from his current rating in the past, he looks vulnerable today. Rann Na Cille failed to get competitive from a poor draw at Beverley six days ago and may be worth another chance now there is less of an emphasis on the position of the stalls. The betting market will be a good gauge where he is concerned. Nevertheless, Silly Gilly makes a touch more appeal at the likely odds. Karl Burke's filly will be suited by the underfoot conditions and, as she has been crying out for another crack at this trip, the daughter of Mull Of Kintyre is expected to be a lively option this afternoon.
