In depth

Verdict

Oulan Bator gets the vote in the finale with Liberty Seeker and McEldowney put forward as the main dangers. The selection won well here last time when beating Regent's Secret. That rival runs here today in the 4.15 race so if he runs well then it will give the form of that win a major boost. The step-up in trip should be in Oulan Bator's favour today and we are happy to side with Richard Fahey's charge. Liberty Seeker would have claims on his best form but he ran a shocker for no apparent reason at Ayr last time and for that reason we will take him on. McEldowney won well over 1m4f here last time but this looks to be a stronger race so we are prepared to oppose him. A market move for Howard Johnson's Parchment would be interesting, but we will stick with Oulan Bator who gets our vote to lead them home.
