        Verdict

        A hum-drum affair by any stretch of the imagination. Linda Perratt is always respected North of the Border and the Teamtalk nod is sent the way of Ace of Trumps. He took this race last year in similar conditions and although he has not been winning in handicap company of late, he handles the ground and this is by far his easiest assignment for some time. Rymer's Rascal actually produced a fourth to I Cried For You at York on a similar surface two years ago and while it is extremely unlikely that he is open to any improvement at the age of ten, he is in good heart and the trainer is in fair form. He had Spice Island behind him last time out but on this surface it would not be totally unexpected for that form to be reversed. Black Pagoda has shown nothing since leaving Ballydoyle while Theatre Lady looks hard to fancy on the ground. Of the remainder, any market support for Kanz Wood (a previous winner on the surface - albeit many moons ago) and Sittin Bull would be worth monitoring.
