An interesting jockey booking here with Paul Hanagan riding Sir Mark Prescott's Western Point and this one gets the verdict ahead of Just Oscar and John Dillon. The selection has been given a similar route to many of the stable's runners, having three runs over an inadequate trip and now stepping up in distance for a handicap debut. A mark of 56 looks quite fair and a big run is expected. John Dillon on the other hand steps down in trip after failing to stay ten furlongs. Back over a mile on his handicap bow he has to be respected. Just Oscar ran his best race for some time when three lengths behind Private Peachey at bath and he should be in shake up. The pick of the others could be the consistent Colditz, but Western Point could be a blot on the handicap and he gets the vote.
