Verdict

BARBIROLLI is given the vote to land the finale at the expense of Park's Prodigy and Hurricane Thomas. The selection won twice during April and May and caught the eye once again at Lingfield last time out when finishing a decent third of fourteen. He still looks potentially well treated and if at his best he will prove difficult to beat. Park's Prodigy ran well on his seasonal reappearance at Redcar when finishing fourth of seventeen. That was over an inadequate trip and he will fair much better over this favoured trip of a mile and a half. Hurricane Thomas has been running into the frame of late and comes from a yard bang in form at present. This looks like one of his easiest opportunities for some while so any market moves should be noted. This looks a competitive finale but Barbirolli looks the form horse and is the preferred choice.
