Pepper Road has run well on his last two outings and is fancied to get his head in front here; Tony Tie and Wilson Bluebottle could be the main dangers. Pepper Road was victorious off a five pound higher mark at Musselburgh last year, and has shaped in his last two outings as though he is ready to return to his best form. He finished very strongly to finish third to Gifted Flame at Carlisle, his best form form a long time, and proved that to be no fluke when fifth from a poor draw in a valuable race at the same course last time. Tony Tie was three quarters of a length away in seventh place that day, and is now two pounds better off. He has since finished second over this course and distance and usually goes well here, so looks to be the main danger to the selection. Wilson Bluebottle sprang something of a shock when getting off the mark at Redcar last time, and although he may improve on that, it was a ladies race and he no doubt benefited from the accomplished handling of Serena Brotherton that day. Blushing Prince is much better on sand, while Peartree House has become a frustrating character, so Pepper Road gets the nap to win this under useful claimer Dominic Fox.
