Verdict

A dreadful contest to end the afternoon's proceedings with several moderate types holding claims including Minirina, Amber Fox and Pirlie Hill but a chance is taken with Be My Alibi. The selection has had just two starts since joining the stable of Mark Brisbourne and it is interesting that his shrewd handler drops the son of Daggers Drawn to the minimum trip for the first time since his juvenile days. Minirina has been equipping herself well in banded stakes races of late and receives plenty of weight. She has to be respected along with Amber Fox, who ventures into a handicap for the first time off what looks a fair mark. Top weight Pirlie Hill has been raised 5lbs for her last time out length fifth behind Parkside Pursuit at Ayr and has more to do now. Alan Swinbank's Missie is entitled to improve for her recent reappearance, while Noble Mount is less exposed than most and would not need to improve a great deal on previous form to take a hand. It is difficult to confident about any of the runners in this contest but Mark Brisbourne has his string in good form at present and is taken to have another winner here through the three-year-old Be My Alibi.
