In depth

Verdict

Wynberg is the selection to land the opener, in preference to Loyal Royal and Pegasus Dancer. He's yet to recapture his form of earlier in the year when a regular winner on the all-weather, but although a number of these have won over the trip, they're not any great shakes. If back to his best, he could be home first. Loyal Royal has rarely been on the all weather; he's got the highest official rating, but is racing off his lowest ever mark. Milton Bradley also runs Puskas and Sandy Par. Pegasus Dancer made all to win a handicap in December, but hasn't been able to follow that up. He may need to sprout wings today though. And so from a fairly moderate bunch, we'll side with Wynberg.
