In depth

Verdict

The Names Jock and Roibeard both return after very long breaks and the latter had run over hurdles before making a successful reappearance at Leopardstown a year ago. On The Balcony scored in France in December while Qaabil showed some potential in France and for William Haggas and doesn't look badly treated. Multamis, three-times a winner for Owen Burrows, has joined Johnny Murtagh and shouldn't be long adding to his tally while Darkened, who didn't take to hurdles over the winter, should do better on his handicap debut on the level. Seven-times winner SPRUCE MEADOWS won a couple of times last summer and, though not the most consistent, this could be a good time to catch him and he gets a tentative vote in a tricky finale.
