Verdict

Norfolk Stakes winner Baron's Pit, will find life difficult under his penalty and is no certainty to confirm the form with The Bonus King over this trip. He has only raced at the minimum so far, but out of a mare who won over a mile, he should have no problems with this step up in trip and may well improve for it. The Bonus King, just touched off at Ascot, has every chance of reversing the form, especially over this trip. He has since stepped up on that effort, when just failing to give weight away in the Group 3 July Stakes. He is tough and consistent and whatever beats him will win. Checkit doesn't know how to run a bad race, but he will surely find one or two of these too sharp for him, while Elusive City, who will again be ridden by Fallon, takes a big step up in class here and is open to any amount of improvement. Fatik, who holds entries in all the top events, is sure to have improved for his debut and will be better suited to this faster ground, but Revenue, the winner of the Windsor Castle Stakes, has more to do in this. Willheconquertoo, looks out of his depth and Semigold will need to find improvement to take a hand in the finish, but Hurricane Alan, who ran away with a valuable event at the Curragh, looks one to keep an eye on.
