In depth

Verdict

Hambleden has improved with every run this season and looks as though he should be getting his head in front in the near future. He ruined his chance of winning at York last time by pulling too hard and although that may be a problem again in such a small field his form stands out making him the obvious favourite. However this is a competitive affair and Amanda Perrett's Indian Solitaire, who despite having his quirks, has been in solid form without really getting the results he deserves. Esteemed Master looks a difficult horse to win with and the first time visor applied to him last time failed to have the desired effect. The headgear remains here but he is not one to back with too much faith. The lightly-raced Triphenia has been completely out of form on his two starts this season and remains best watched.
