Verdict

Noble Citizen, runner-up a year ago when a 33/1 chance, has been inconsistent but is 2lb lower here, albeit without an apprentice's claim to reduce his burden. George Guru had dropped to a very fair mark when scoring over the course and distance and a 5lb rise won't help. THE CONFESSOR, who finished third, was having his first start since October and, as he usually runs well here, he's taken to reverse the form and come out on top. Common Touch is one to note in the betting after his absence since October as he has a fine record over this trip and is well enough handicapped on his best form.
