    Verdict

Some Nightmare is 7lb higher than when winning last year’s renewal but finished behind runner-up ANTIPHON over track and trip last time. The latter should make another bold bid having won for today’s apprentice at Brighton last month. Treacherous went close back over today’s trip at Doncaster a fortnight ago while Coco Bear found one too good at Windsor and Alcazan posted a better effort at Newmarket. Firenze Rosa won a lower grade sprint here before beaten at Brighton.
