Verdict

Persian Lightning is an old favourite and should come on for his recent seasonal debut at Newmarket and looks set to be thereabouts but preference is for the classy Private Charter with Papineau also in with a shout. The Barry Hills trained gelding cut little ice in the winter Derby at Lingfield but took on some top performers last season including High Chaparral. He bounced back to form at Newmarket earlier this month with a second to Bandari and can take this before moving back to group company. John Dunlop trains the five-year-old Persian Lightning who has a bit to find with the selection on Newmarket running, however this extra two furlongs will help him get a bit closer. The Godolphin horses are not at their best at the moment, but Papineau does have the form to go close here, as he ran well to finish fifth in the French Derby when trained by Andre Fabre. The Blues boys are also represented by Songlark who can also be given a chance on his best form. So in a tricky start to proceedings Private Charter is taken to fly home.
